Clarín (English: flugelhorn) is the largest newspaper in Argentina, published by the Grupo Clarín media group. It was founded by Roberto Noble on 28 August 1945. It is popularly understood to oppose the Kirchner government. Its director since 1969 is Ernestina Herrera de Noble.
Based in Buenos Aires, the newspaper prints and distributes around 330,000 copies throughout the country. Clarín has a 44 percent market share in Buenos Aires. According to Alexa.com, the electronic version of the paper is one of the most visited Spanish language newspaper on the Internet.
Clarín is part of Periódicos Asociados Latinoamericanos (Latin American Newspaper Association), an organization of fourteen leading newspapers in South America.
